-Return all large mouth bass over 14" in length.
-Harvest all large mouth bass under 14" per the daily bag limit of 5.
-Harvest all panfish (bluegill, pumpkinseed, sunfish, crappie and yellow perch) under 10”

  • Invasive Species

The lake currently has Chinese Mystery Snail and Purple Loosestrife.

The threat of Zebra Mussels is a major concern. The lake association, in cooperation with Burnett County and the Wisconsin DNR has installed a decontamination station and a camera at the boat landing and has used summer hires and volunteers to work at the landing during busy times to help educate lake users.

  • A Storied History

“Spending a week on North Sand Lake during the summer of 1945 became a gift that lasted forever…”

There are not many lakes that have a published history. At North Sand Lake, we are lucky to have the writing of Catherine Tripalin Murray in Up North: A Father’s Summer Legacy. The book provides lake and local history as well as memories (and recipes) from a family that has been on the lake for generations.

If you are interested in reading the book, see if a neighbor might loan you a copy or contact the association.
